anyways long story short, sharing didn't work out, too many clashes, I was glad to find out the family had an old laptop they were gonna chuck but I saved it (turned out it was just faulty RAM) it had windows 8.1 so I figured "Now is the time to make the jump, nothing will end up less functional than this OS on half the ram". Hi, I am a Linux novice and this is my experience of using Elementary OS as a beginner.ĭue to the current lockdown I ended up at my girlfriend's house for the time being, I am a PC enthusiast so it would come to no surprise that I built my own desktop, however, it was impossible to take it with me and resorted to sharing a laptop between us to finish the uni year.
